About the Artist
Christianna Plewka is a 24 year old queer multidisciplinary surrealist. Working in mediums ranging from acrylic on paper to bleach dyed fabric, they maintain an organically inspired, and stylized aesthetic throughout their archive. Focusing on themes such as spirituality, addiction/ recovery, body/ sexual diversity, and self love, they weave a tale of destruction, hope, and renewal. They are educated in fine arts & film at Columbia College Chicago, and currently work as a freelance creative, and painting instructor.

In a world that’s desaturated, over-consumed, and disconnected, it often feels impossible to be authentic. Art has been my way of addressing these never-ending expectations of perfection and order; proving that chaos and unfiltered humanity, while messy, are equally as important. We as people have been controlled to a point of fault- told how to look, how to act, what to say, where to be, who to be, and how to be it. My pieces aim to show that power and beauty have no one look, and are rather an ever-shifting presence.
